Victoria Chess Festival 2007

Victoria hosted a variety of chess events over the 2007 Easter weekend in one location. These events included the BC championship, an open tournament (the Grand Pacific Open), the BC Provincial Grade Championship, and a Bughouse tournament. The festival was a great success pulling in more than the expected number of participants. The open tournament wound up as the largest open tournament in recent Victoria history.

The Grand Pacific Hotel, next to the BC Legislature, provided a wonderful playing site and a special rate of $89 for the occasion. See http://www.hotelgrandpacific.com for more information.

Also in attendance was Larry Bevand of the CMA with a bookstall.

Many thanks to the organizers and TDs (Brian Raymer, Greg Churchill, Roger Patterson, Paul Le Blanc, Lynn Stringer)
