2009 Victoria Chess Festival

April 10-13 2009

Once again, we will be holding the Victoria Chess Festival.

Once again, it will feature a selection of events centered around the FIDE rated Grand Pacific Open with a $4000 guaranteed prize fund.

Once again, it will feature superb accommodations in the Victoria Inner Harbour.

And a fine selection of chess books will be available to stock up your chess library.

Grand Pacific Scholastic; Friday April 10. A 5 round active tournament for juniors in grades K to 7.

Chess960 Open; Friday April 10. A 4 round active tournament using Fischer random or Chess 960 positions. See Chess960.

Grand Pacific Open; Friday April 10 to Monday April 13. A 6 round FIDE & CFC rated Swiss with $4000 in guaranteed prizes.

Saturday Master Lecture; Saturday April 11.

Midnight Blitz; Saturday April 11. A Blitz tournament after the end of that day's rounds.

Sunday Master Lecture; Sunday April 12.
